"Tower Castle" is a medieval castle that has been completely restored as a family home with all the modern comforts and set in private grounds of 1.5 ha (3.6 acres) with magnificent scenery in the Spanish Pyrenees. This monumental building was built in the fifteenth century for the Cistercian Order and was restored between 2000 and 2003 by an architect from Cambridge together with assistance from a local architect with a very high quality standards. The building is shaped like a tower and located in a beautiful place 20 metres below the local village.

The building and its land (the Clua) have magnificent views and are in a quiet and hidden valley, but is very accessible with newly improved roads. The villages in the area have escaped the development of recent years and retain their heritage. Within 20 to 30 minutes are several villages and also every type of mountain activity: skiiing, white water rafting, canyoneering etc. The land consists of two fields; La Clua with 1.2 hectares of pasture and Los Coralons which has 0.3 hectares surrounded by stone walls with three orchards (apples, pears, cherries, olives and almonds etc). The property has mains electrics and natural water supply with natural gas for heating in an underground tank. An application has been made for helicopter-landing.

All floors are connected by a lift and stairs. The ground floor is of "Travertine" marble and consists of a family room with a fireplace, dining room and seating areas and the kitchen. The materials are of the best quality throughout. The structure is an upgrading of local tradition: main beams of compound oak and steel, and joists of laminated timber supporting terracotta vaulting. Every floor incorporates 2-way reinforcement connecting the exisiting walls together; it should not be possible for the Cistercian work to deteriorate further. The roof structure was specialist made in Vitoria, in pre-fabricated laminated timber supporting locally obtained rafters, insulation panels and old Roman tiles. The ground floor is of Tavertine marble and all the remaining floors above are of large terrcotta tiles from Bruc finished in beeswax. All exterior walls are of the original local stone, pointed with slightly pink lime mortar, the Mirador was re-built in hand made Roman bricks set in lime mortar, as were all damaged window and door openings. All joinery is of solid oak, finished in white oil. The arched main door is 8cm (3.25 inches) thick. The large bed and divan in oak are included in the sale, if required.

In the corner of the larger field s a substantial shelter of 30m2 with a balcony, suitable for conversion to a secondary house.
